Keyboard/Piano Performance (5 days) provides technical skills, musical knowledge and performing experience that prepares students for a wide range of professional and creative opportunities as performing musicians. Keyboard/Piano Performance instruction includes a thorough study of traditional keyboard/piano facility including chords, scales, arpeggios, intervals, emphasis on learning notation such as clefs, ledger lines, song forms, Keyboard-based approaches to arranging, recording, producing includes music theory, ear training, music history, and understanding of different styles, voice leading, chord construction and symbol recognition. Repertoire draws from simple contemporary pieces and melodies accompanied with chords. Mastery of the material will be demonstrated through written assignments. Every day class attendance and daily practice (2 hours) are expected. This course is designed for students who wish to develop contemporary music performance skills. Regardless of your ability level, you'll get plenty out of the programme, although we do recommend you have a minimum of six months’ playing experience to fully benefit.
