Hands-on
The School of Contemporary Music (SCM) teaching method is a hand on creative approach, the most effective and efficient way to learn about music performance, theory and harmony. Our method is designed so that anyone of any standard can improvise and also learn about music theory/harmony and its application to performance. Not only do you learn, you will also unravel the complexity of music theory and harmony with a logical, systematic and easy to understand approach. Our courses classes will help you to understand the concepts behind all styles of music including rock, pop, folk, modern dance music and classical. The course content is an excellent background for songwriting. Our practical ethos means SCM students get their hands-on learning from day one, performing and producing real-world projects in small creative teams. It is this collaborative learning that gives our students a competitive edge when entering the workforce.

Course Design
School of Contemporary Music’s course design in Music Performance is a unique course – the only one of its kind in United Kingdom. School of Contemporary Music provides a real-world education to its students, with our graduates ready to enter the professional music industry through the music and business skills acquired while at School of Contemporary Music. We also continue to employ graduates for a range of our non-certificate programs. Currently, we have School of Contemporary Music Alumni set up to help our graduates getting paid teaching work by delivering night classes, private lessons, workshops and performance demonstrations in schools. Performance Opportunities
School of Contemporary Music provides its students with more live performance opportunities than any other provider in UK. Public performances that featured current School of Contemporary Music students. Weekly residency gigs using School of Contemporary Music students at Churches venue across UK, plus monthly residencies at other public performances. No other institution can offer this level of exposure whilst studying.
