OVERVIEW

School of Contemporary Music’s, Vocals and Instruments courses, Saturday Courses now includes three easily accessible streams: Foundation, Intermediary and Advanced Levels. The Saturday Weekend Courses is open for people of all skill levels, inspirations and music aspirations, so anyone with a dream is welcome! The programs will give students the foundations to keep pursuing their talents, whether as a hobby or as true career goals. We pride ourselves in our immersive curriculum with instructors who are experts in their instrument.

 

School of Contemporary Music Vocals Saturday Weekend Course, students will take part in 36 hours of vocals or instruments instruction with class faculty over twelve weeks. Students will learn to become the best players they can be in a creative and nurturing environment and have a whole lot of fun doing it.

AIMS

Saturday Courses is a performance-based music education program designed to guide and inspire young people (and beyond) as they find their voices as musicians. The Saturday classes were created to allow students to practice their passion at their own pace, where they will receive private lessons, counseling, lessons in techniques and more. After 12 weeks, students will leave the with a music experience of a stage performance, along with confidence, a newfound musicianship, and plenty of new musical friends.

 

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course is ideal for aspiring musicians with little to no experience in music performance. It is highly recommended for students who want to apply for further study in music.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Professional credential in music education
  • Credit for the tuition amount paid if they enrol at School of Contemporary Music as a full-time student

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Minimum requirements: Students must have proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking. SCM requires that you apply online. We operate on a rolling admission system; once your application is submitted and completed, you should receive a decision within two weeks.

 

The non-refundable application fee of £25 is due at the time of application submission.

The admission terms takes all elements of your application into consideration, including your personal and professional goals, as well as intention for music-related studies. Our comprehensive analysis of each applicant is designed to objectively assess your ability to succeed with School of Contemporary Music Saturday Weekends Courses.

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

Because our classes are taught and presented in English, applicants must have demonstrated proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking, in order to be successful in our program. (Non-native English speaking students need to meet our English language requirement of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent).

COURSE COSTS

Pricing:

  • Application Fee (Non-refundable): £25
  • Deposit (Due with application, refundable): £200
  • Total Program Cost: £405 (£450) 10% off Registration Special
  • Application Deadline: June 14th

 

On acceptance of the offer for admission, a registration Fee of £25 is required to confirm your place on the course. This is non-refundable and separate from the final tuition fees.

Tuition Fees for UK/EU is set at £450 and International students set at £450 for the entire 12 week program. Tuition fees are due in full at the start of course.

Additional Tuition might apply for extra lessons, final concert and parent’s classes.

For families that have more than one student, we offer a 10% discount!

 

FACILITIES

The main building is open to students 8:00am – 7:00pm, Monday through Friday during term time.

It encompasses classrooms, practice rooms, recording facilities and studios.

 

CLASS AND REHEARSAL ROOMS:

  • Most classrooms are equipped with a full backline
  • When classes are over, select rooms convert to exclusive rehearsal facilities for School of Contemporary Music students

 

AUDIO LABS:

  • Workstation-based audio labs feature an array of industry-standard recording software and outboard gear
  • Used for both group instruction and individual projects

 

LIBRARY/INFORMATION CENTER:

  • Instruments available for study and practice
  • Computer-equipped practice terminals
  • Library loan of instruments
  • Library loan of CDs, DVDs, books and more

 

RECORDING STUDIOS:

  • Professional studios provide hands-on experience
  • Top-of-the-line equipment from prestigious manufacturers, including large-format mixing consoles from Allen & Heath, Mackie Console, Spirit folio Mixer and Yamaha Mixing Console.
  • Project studios are available for students to record, mix, and edit music

 

LIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Opportunities to access hall for school live performances.
